Bachelor of Medicine and General Surgery (MBBS)

The Bachelor of Medicine and General Surgery (MBBS) program is a comprehensive five-year medical degree designed to prepare future physicians with the knowledge, clinical competence, and professional values required to meet the healthcare needs of individuals and communities. Our program is designed to prepare competent, ethical, and highly skilled physicians capable of addressing the healthcare needs of individuals and communities.   The program integrates basic medical sciences, clinical training, research, and community engagement,to develop graduates who can provide high-quality patient care and contribute to the advancement of healthcare systems  and to ensure graduates are equipped to practice medicine safely, effectively, and ethically in Sudan and internationally.

Program Phases

Phase I

Basic Medical Sciences

Semesters I – IV

Students develop a strong foundation in biomedical sciences, anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, pathology, and public health, while gaining early exposure to community healthcare.

Phase II

Pre-Clinical Studies

Semesters V – VI

Students focus on disease mechanisms, diagnostic principles, communication skills, and introductory clinical training through integrated learning experiences.

Phase III

Clinical Training

Semesters VII – X

Students participate in supervised clinical clerkships across major medical specialties, including Internal Medicine, Surgery, Pediatrics, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Family Medicine, and Community Health, with emphasis on primary healthcare and patient-centered practice.
